    your header is too big and I think you should change the footer content to your header.

    Your template/site structure has nothing to do with an article directory.Try to add a nice,clear template and maybe a front-end login box.

    your site is clean. yet it don't look like its a directory like you described unlike using some wordpress article directory theme

    Nice job, but you should add About page that could describe who you are or what your site is. You're using Wordpress right ?? You could use another better theme for your site, there are a lot of amazing & awesome wordpress themes out there, event the free ones, find it pal, and your site will be look great. ;)

    Thanks all. I'm wondering if it's a bad thing if my article directory do not LOOK LIKE an article directory. Maybe the readers would stay longer on my website if it doesn't?

    There are a lot of categories, but there isn't much articles published yet so you can't see them.

    If you want to offer to your users a quality article directory,with a smooth user experience,maybe you have to follow some minimal structure guidelines.(Eg.:display all available categories/subcats on frontpage,a user login/register box,and maybe a custom made template).A new user will not stay on a site where things are unclear,mixed,or it takes too long to discover the menus and/or the minimum functionalities.

    Well there are a Login and Register link on the homepage, and all the categories are displayed in the sidebar. I also removed the header image and it's much clearer like this.

    Would you publish an article on it? Would you stay to read an article if you found it in the search engines?

    people will actually submit when they see the categories.
    if they don't see any categories where thier article might belong, then they don't.

    Nice theme. It is very clean and simple. You can add more category to make it better for all users. To get traffic and attract more people you should add some thing that should be attractive and useful for users so you can reach your viewers.

    maybe a more appealing theme would perhaps work. it is simple and it is good. but how about considering a more "magazine" kind-of-style?
