Set up a friends list by going over to link exchanges. Find web rings that are similar to your site. There are other forums that can help you out with your traffic challenge. Lock in trade links within your posts, and keep it tight. I would start out with about 10 friends. You wouldn't want more than that, and see how you go from there.
