I suggest darker background with some cool images, did example for you with Photoshop IF you are interest i can photoshop you create background with photos of artists you want and add cool effects etc. This was fast one just to show you the idea. If I were to comment on the design area I think you should be looking for a more colourful theme. It looks too simple for a Music Blog.
