http://gear-vault.com with an auction (ebay alternative) for users to use, free: http://gear-vault.com/classifieds.

This site is my pride and joy. It's not for making money or getting rich. It's for me to get the word out and connect to my readers.

Please take a look and let me know how you like it and how I could improve it.

    Thanks again!

The site looks great! the only problem i noticed was with the bottom banner, the text didnt fit it very well. i would look it over again and make it a bit larger. im using Opera with Xp and 1920x1200 res.

Hey thanks. I want to redesign the site to look more original.

What bottom banner do you speak of?

    Thx

You're using a Revolution Wordpress template, therefore you did the right choice. I hope someday I could have a website similar to yours. Cheers!

Fix the bottom, and you've got a good site there. One of the best I've seen in the "reviews" section

I'm using IE6 and IE7. Can you describe the issue with the bottom. I'll get that fixed right away.

Thank you all for the compliments. My next goal is to add nicer buttons and better (more personal) color scheme to the skin.

It looks great. Nitpicks (very small nitpicks) below. I'm using Safari to check out the site and I don't see any major problem.
What it does look like is cluttered. I shouldn't mind that the middle column is thinner than than the left- and right-hand side bars. But it seems that these are not sidebars, but major content columns. The whole page goes three (uneven) columns down the bottom. I would suggest you create breaks on the page, so it would look easier on the eyes. In terms of loading, try to do a layout of no more than two pages (pressing the "page down" once). Maybe three pages at most.
For a graphics-heavy web page, it loads fast. That's good.
Content-wise, the copy is very intelligent. Not nerdy, or geeky but intelligent. You know your stuff. These are expert well-written articles. Congratulations.
Last nit is about the contents. Most of the articles are related, and could be digested and presented as links. As it is the series looks redundant because of the repetitive nature of the names on the stories.
You've got a great site. Take the nit picks and do as you please. Take 'em or leave 'em.
    Good luck.

Thank you for your review. I'm looking to do some color changes the skin... which hopefully cleans it up. I know what you mean about the bottom. I'm not sure how to fix it because I use different size photos, which unbalance the bottom. Maybe I could change some code to make it fade.

Looks great. I wouldn't change any colors, it works perfect for the niche you are targeting.

    Good Luck!

Thanks! I was just looking to add a little 'personality' to the site. But I decided to keep it as-is for awhile. (its the basic Revolution theme)

I added a cool little popup. It's scheduled so you only see it one time. How does that look?

Yes, nice and clean website, let's see if we can find something to improve:

    - The Gear-Vault logo is a nice one, good alignment and positionning with the description. Classifieds one I think it can be imporved. First it looks pixelated, maybe save it at a higher rezolution.
    - In the logo image of your forum, one horizontal transparency gradient could make the transition from the black behind the logo to that gray from the right.
    - The rest seems to be ok, nice work!

    Spectacular and awesome.

When I go to the auction page, until the downloads complete the page spreads out very wide. I dislike that effect, you may want to hard code enough of the page structure to eliminate it.
