Check out his site it's meant to be minimalistic because the videos are what are important. What do you think of his work?

He is a professional video editor that serves L.A., Hollywood, Studio City, California. His Demo reels are sick.

    Let me know your thoughts!!

    My Review of Donraimondi.com
    _

First impressions: First thought was: "Oh man, is there going to be an annoying video autoplaying some techno music and explosions on the homepage of this site? Thankfully it was just a single explosion and the name of your friend. Is there any other way you could do this though? Such as flash or something. My main grief is that after it plays once there is a big "play button" in the center (letting me replay the video). Could you maybe replace it with a still image of the last frame after the video is completed? I just found it distracting.

Home Page: Just a quick look over the site I noticed this: "draimondi21 at gmail.com" - Why use at instead of @? Maybe have that be a link? Or better yet, use one of those integrated "contact us" forms where you put in your email, the subject, and your message - right on the site.

The colors are very earthy, and all the text really stands out on the dark background. The Olive and PaleYellow font colors are very nice and I'd describe them as "sophisticated". Good choices there.

Reels: Wow! Your friend is a damned out-and-out professional! Those are good , some of the better promos I've seen. Especially the "Escape from Witch Mountain" and "Jesse James is a Dead Man". The video quality is great, and the videos loaded for me quite quickly.

    Design:
    • Apparel: I love the Altered Army Mockup #1 and #4. You should include a 'Buy Now' button for those if possible. I'm sure they would sell. I'd buy one if the price was right (and I wasn't unemployed)
    • Graphic: Sharp business cards. I hope you made them so that the grating was actually bumpy on the card itself. That would be great. Or if you could get the business cards actually designed onto small squares of tin or aluminum or something. That would be really sharp.
    • Photography: Not a big fan of these photos. For the genre they belong to, I'm sure they are good examples, but I don't like the amount of effects used on them all. I do like the one titled "In The Moment Photo: Chris Lee", that was pretty cool. The thumbnails are a generous size, and do a good job previewing the images. I like!

Resume: Resume is M.I.A - probably the most important part of the site. Really focus on this section, it's the make it or break it section. I would even make the resume section more pronounced in some way. Maybe a periodic glow could go around the sidebar link.. or you could put a "Resume" link at the bottom of every page. Just some ideas. But I would definitely make the resume section the focal point of this site.

Keep up the good work & best of luck,
