    The header design is too plain and the blue text is hard to read.

    too dark of a theme. You might want to go with a lighter theme.

    Black background and blue text is very hard on eyes. Change the theme.

    Agree, it is really difficult to read that blue text on dark background, so also recommend you to change the template.

    As for the ad-placement - the header ads look good to me, but why the vertical ad-unit on the bottom is not on black background and why after the text itself?
