Hello all, Cron jobs is a feature in web hosting which allows you to schedule your script to run periodically. In most cases, you'd like to set cron jobs with URL of your script. If your host doesn't have CronJobs feature, or you get trouble with setting up your cron jobs, you can try this online cron jobs service: www.setcronjob.com With its FREE account, you can create unlimited cron jobs every 5 minutes. Premium accounts are also available with a nice price: starting price is only $5/ year Can you please have a look at it, and give me some honest comments Best regards, Nguyen An Thuan.
Any decent host that supports Apache is going to have CRON jobs. That being said what you are doing isn't such a bad idea. But, something I have done ( when I didn't have Apache ) was to create a script that ran a type of cron job once a user logged on to the site. I didn't do i but every few hours but it worked, and I didn't have to set up a cron job.
>Any decent host that supports Apache is going to have CRON jobs. In fact, most free web hostings don't have CRON jobs. >... create a script that ran a type of cron job once a user logged on to the site. Ah yes, you can run your cron jobs based on your visitors. But it's not reliable as you can't control number of visitors, especially you want to run your cron too frequently, e.g every minute. With SetCronJob, your cron jobs will be executed more accurately and on time.
Hi PlumGreekMob, Thank you for your review What do you mean by "2.0"? I'm still confused about the web 2.0 definitions, but will have a look at it Kind regards, Nguyen An Thuan.
I like the idea and overall design but maybe tuning the design a bit more will allow a site like this to take off!
Seems like there needs to be more design. It's ok, just seems a little too simple. Simplicity is nice...but not too much.
