It looks like a nice standard forum, nothing special. Personally, however, I am not a fan of dark backgrounds because its just a little harder on the eyes.

 

yeah I agree with "Get Inspired" about the theme. I am not feeling crazy to hangout more on the forum, no offence. Jus mentioning my point of view. Little bit lighter theme will definitely boost your forum visitor performance.

Our staff and members voted to have the categories consolidated...we had too many at one point

 

Agreed, dark backgrounds put me off, for a few minutes its okay to deal with, after that my eyes tend to get unhappy lol.
However i definately like the content

 

It looks cluttered above the fold. I too am not a fan of the dark blue.

 

Great blog. rich in information and simple designs..

 

I think the single biggest improvement you could make would be to lighten the text so it contrasts better with the dark blue. If not totally white, maybe consider something along the lines of #DDDDFF or #CCCCFF
