I think that if your site is going to be a business you need a real logo, not dog pics. Design a logo of pay a designer to do it. With the current header your site looks like a blog, not like a business.

Perhaps you need also a template with a more business like appearance. Take an eye on your competition's webs and get ideas from them.

I wouldn't call it a "business". Its just a product rating site so not too serious I think? LIke I said Im not good with design. Im lucky the logo even looks this good. :D

Im definitely not changing the software / template.

Its the only color that matches my template and allows me to insert the kind of dog pictures like I have. I think it wouldn't look right showing a dog on a bed or playing with a toy if it was a different color background.

Your site has too much white, I suggest you change the colours, and I would change the logo too. :)

If someone can design me a professional looking design in this thread that fits the site (same size as current logo (840 X 180) and can match the color design of the site) and I Like it, Ill paypal them 15 dollars.

It must contain the text "HappyPetDog.com" and "Dog Product Reviews by Real People" in the logos though.

I like that much better!!! Great job, now it ties in with your site better.

As far as the name, I personally don't look at the name of the site, I look at the relevance of the material. So it is a call on your part :p

Thanks for your thoughts. Ive decided to keep the domain name. its a brandable name anyways. That was one reason for me deciding this name in the first place, its brandable and loosely related to the topic of the site. My entire site and content is already indexed in Google and I just started adding content and backlinks to the site in the last 12 hours. LOL

I wonder if the Title should be "dog product reviews" or something other than Karma... Check the Google Keyword tool to see what gets the most searches for your category. As for the domain, it could be easy to remember, but I've found that with three word domains, people sometimes get confused and transpose the words (like happydogpet). I would look around for a two word domain (again using Google Keyword tool for suggestions.) Unfortunately, two word domain names are almost impossible to find nowadays.

Well the alternative domains I could think of were all slightly longer and all 3 words too. This was by far the easiest one that I felt was still somewhat relative and easy to remember and had the most brandable and positive feeling to it.

I don't know what you mean by the title should be dog product reviews or something other than karma? Each category has its own title, and each listing has its own title. So I have "Dog food reviews" and inside there there is individual urls to a "karma organic dog food" "newmans organic dog food" etc each all with their own unique title.

I just updated the color around the template from a darkish black to more of a greyish blue. I think it looks better on the eyes and more in theme for the site. I also fixed up the logo words a bit to make it look nicer.

Thanks. Did you see what the old template looked like when i started this thread or just this new version?

It took a long time cause I had to keep changing the logo constantly to match the template colors when I first set it up. I was using this template from a previous site, but I had to modify it a bit for this site and the logo and theme wasn't working well for the theme of this site, so I changed the border yesterday to a mellow blue. Then I changed the words in the 2nd part of logo to a mellow blue last night from being black cause it needed a little more color in the lettering of the logo. Adding the products on the front page didn't take me too long cause I did something similiar for a different site, but not the same thing, so I just tweaked it a little for the theme of the site.

I like it. Nice & simple. One question though... Is there anything you can do to fix the width of the menu to match the body & the footer? It's a little distracting.
