    I would suggest:
    1) Adding a logo
    2) Use a more appealing template/colour scheme
    3) Add more images

    if i were in your shoes, i would chance my theme to a more colorful one or at least to an any more attractive theme, this one looks a lil boring.

    Looks pretty plain and if I were writing about organic SEO tips, I would put my blog on it's own domain.

    Your ideas for its content is not bad, though.

    I would make the (SEARCH ENGINE...) text smaller. It's more bold than the actual site name. I would also consider creating a different logo, I don't think it matches your site topic.
