I think the blog would look better if you do the following things: - Get a more professional theme. - Get a logo. - Remove some of the content from the landing page, there is too much content on the page, you should consider putting some of that content on a sub-page.
It looks like a good start. I have a few suggestions as well. The loading time is pretty slow so you might want to shorten the number of posts displayed on the main page. Also the line spacing between lines of text is a little too spaced out, decrease this using css and it will make a big difference in the look of the site. I also agree with the above suggestions
