Good afternoon everyone - I've gotten my blog up and going for a little while now and I would appreciate any feedback you may have on my content, design, ect. I've been working hard to put everything together, and finally went to a three-columned design a month or so ago. The blog is called "Quo Vadimus" (it's dedicated primarily to sports, current events, politics, and television) and it's located at http://swarheit.blogspot.com. Thanks in advance for all of the feedback (positive and negative). I look forward to hearing your responses. -Scott
Layout: ok - 5/10 Color Combination: Decent and good looking - 6/10 Information: Informative - 8/10 Ease of Usability: Good - 6/10 Loading time: good - 7/10 Overall: Good .. some changes will make it the best Suggestions / Comments: a) Instead of having the normal page layout like Header at top; Body divided into 3 parts etc; ... why don't you try something diff .. like .... Top TV Shows on DVD can be like a small banner (colorful and attractive) through this we are making sure that the visitor is not missing it.
i dont like the ads in the text and i think that you should use an logo/image in the header, the content is great
I think it looks ok, But to be honest the Google Ad is way to big, And if its just my computer it took a while to load up. Good work by all means
Thank you everyone for the feedback so far, I really appreciate it, as I do the kind words about the content. I also appreciate the negative comments, so I can try to address those problems. A few of you commented the blog is "too busy" and "crowded" is that because of the sidebars? I recently went from a two-columned design to a three-column design to give me more flexibility in terms of the extra content I can add on those sidebars. Is that where you feel things are too busy/crowded? Should I go back to a two-column design? As for the comment about the in-line Google ad, I don't want to move that. From everything I've read (and seen) integrating the ads into content like I have is the best way to draw attention to, and increase CTR on the ads. A few of you commented on the header. I don't disagree with that actually, but I know next to nothing about creating graphics. Is there an easy-to-use, easy-to-learn graphics-for-dummies program I could use to create a logo/header? Thanks again for the comments. -Scott
