Hey guys, Im just playing around with some ad placement. My goal is to still keep the content itself free of ads but to get them as close as possible, but not have the units all clustered. http://www.motorthusiast.com/ (home) http://www.motorthusiast.com/299/fiat-makes-an-american-comeback/ (sample single post page) The 728 seems to do quite well where it currently is but the 300x250s are still showing inconsistent patterns. Tell me what you think guys!
nice work, i liked it, u can add stroke to the images in order to show as they are fitted in the frame or windows and u can also strech the footer part of the website...
Definitely a nice looking site. I would try making the horizontal ad image-only for a while and see if that converts better. The text ads have a tendency to get ignored. As for the side bar ad, I'd move it above your social links. The third ad shows the most potential: move it into the text of your story for a lot better CTR...
Ok thanks a lot guys, pretty much what I was thinking as well. Just experimenting a bit here and there
The 728x90 is in a bad place. It's way too high. That is, when I visited your page, I kept looking around to find your 728x90, but it took me awhile to find it. The reason why is because my eyes zeroed directly into your content, and totally ignored the ad. I would recommend moving the 728x90 to below the header-logo. The 300x250 ads looks great on the side bar. My eyes noticed it right away.
Not that my site is perfect, but I see a few areas for improvement. In the sample post you have just a space thats about 650px wide. Its possible to squeeze two 300px boxes in there. One as an ad, but another as a related posts widget. If its your style that is. Its just undeveloped real estate ready ready for some action, in my eyes that is. I see the liked the content area but perhaps a face box (i've always called it that but thats not the right name) under the story as well. Just like the one in the margin but also under the content. Also of note, having upfront pricing makes it easier to turn prospects into customers. Im not saying it would flood your box with advertising leads, but having an obvious CPM instead of only a inqury box might help. Just set the price a little bit above the eCPM from adsense and you won't loose money.
