I just tried something new on my latest post but other than that my ctr quite sucks.

Have you tried putting a leaderboard at the top of the page? With todays use of tabs that seems to be an optimal position.

try to improve traffic to your website, quality traffic, not webmasters, then you will see the change in ctr

 

Hmm...it follows the basic rules atm....try moving the box to the left buried within text instead of it being far out like right now...I also think left works much well instead of right when you're integrating ad into content..that's just my experience so far.

If that fails, try changing the ad title colour..I know that's against what a LOT of people say but sometimes it works pretty well...people get attracted to the ads instead of having it monotone with the rest of the content.

Easy on eyes, good typography and ads placement, however, if you could try to make the menu more noticeable it would only improve the general feeling.
