helllo I looked at your website and the content was great. But as per me the design should be in theme with the purpose.Something which should symbolize motivation..Like a rising sun or a mountain climber. But honestly the content is wow...
The design will make or break your site. I don't feel very motivated staring at your run-of-the-mill template. Let's see some something flashy/happy. As with motivational speaking (in person) you have to set the tone .
Yeah, I agree with MickJagger, a theme like motivation will need to grab the reader with something visually impressive and give them a reason to stick around and read it. Beyond this, do you have any long-term plans to add regular content? I notice now that you have only 5 articles and each is displayed as a button on the nav bar. To succeed, you'll need to post much more than that. It doesn't look like you have much room for new posts currently. What is the plan?
Needs more content/examples, pictures would be nice. Homepage was anticipating something a little more eye opening, kinda boring.
the site is definitely no frills... but really the biggest thing that distracts me on your pages it the big fat ad right in the middle with words right up against it. If your heart is to truly teach folks about motivation then I'd move, lose it, or at least add some buffer space... I understand though... it's an ad and supposed to be in your face... but no matter what you decide, I'm curious like ajwalsh and wonder how you're going to continue to add content in this format.
The header really needs a more inspirational feel. The mixed color type isn't working. You need type that has a "go for it" feel since that's the first thing people see. I don't usually recommend italics for a banner but in this case I think it would work if you felt compelled to stick with a standard face. Try and find a lighter image for the backdrop and use a bright pastel color that would have good visibility on it. Just a personal opinion.
