This site has been my hard work and learning experience. The site was first built in early 2005 and has undergone 4 re-designs. I continually learn more everyday and eventually it builds up and I've got to re-do everything! I just got done getting as much CSS layout as conveniently possible into an external file, as well as a netscape javascript. I've worked hard on keyword density for the main page and have alot more work to do on the rest. The forums were alot of hard work as well going through 3 redesigns and alot of SEO and modding. www.moddedmustangs.com www.moddedmustangs.com/forum/ Let me know what you think, and what can be improved upon. Thanks in advance for anyone's input.
The tiny text at bottom of http : //www. moddedmustangs. com/ would be easier to read in non-serif font. You include terms in your keywords that seem wasted to me. As an example "tech" I doubt anyone looking for your site would type in the search phrase "tech." I try to limit my keyword phrases to about three or four phrases that are freequently searched for and that appear on home page in text, headings, lists etc. Shannon
what you''l find, Performance Modding: UNREADABLE you have a good color scheme and good banner keep up
I know I'm getting old, but the orange could use some brightening, both on the main page and on the forums. I'd also change the tables on the right so instead of border=1 use different colors. The borders look a little old-school. Otherwise a nice clean design
you should really change the borders that the tables of your site use, you can make some better looking borders using css, ..
I know you said you worked hard on this site but I think you need to work hard on learning what good design is first. I am not saying this to be mean. I am saying this because hard work goes to waste if you do not have an eye for this. Good luck. Study what else is out there. Webmoney.com and some other resources are where you should start. If you do not see yourself being able to take the time to learn how to design well then use a blog or some other templette that already looks good. Good luck.
thanks for the advice, I can take criticism. Since this site, I've designed 4 more sites. I've progressed alot. I've started re-designing this site today for the 5th time. Yes, alot of hard work wasted (well not necessarily waisted as I've learned alot). I'm going to use php for the front end, no CMS though. Just some old fashioned php includes for the header, footer, and right hand navigation. I'll use CSS for the table borders this time as well. I'm not even considering a tableless layout, beyond my ability at the moment. Thanks for the advice again, I'll be back in a few days to showoff the new layout and look for more great advice.
