I just bought this site and I dont know what the heck to do with it next. It's just pictures with comment boxes. What do you think of it and how can I improve it, monetize it, get commenters. :) Thanks for your time - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! funojoke.com

In my opinion I would make the top intro section a lot smaller so more of the content shows. It also needs to be made visually appealing. I would do some color changes since the grey and white just looks kind of blah. A good looking (pretty) website is always what visitors are looking for.

Also, besides just images you might want to add a joke area for the site, especially since "Joke" is in the domain name.

As far as monetization, some affiliate ads for novelty/joke items and maybe some that pertain to images. Perhaps some camera related affiliate ads might do good.

Maybe look into selling prints of the images as well.

Right now it just kind of looks bland so it just needs to be made more visually appealing.

Well, while visually appealing might help, it's really not the biggest deal when it comes to image sharing sites - look at imgur, for instance. It's ugly as fuck, but "everybody" uses it.
As for the current design and structure, I fail to see any potential value in it in the current state. The navigation is clunky, the comments are way too elaborate for people to bother (if you're gonna have comments on a site like this, fuck having to fill out multiple text-boxes - have a "comment with Facebook" or Disqus-comments instead).
Also, you need better navigation - right now, if I click on a picture, there's too much crap around, and also I need to click on a "next" or "previous" button - have the navigation on the image itself, preferably just "click on the picture to go to next picture".
And, if you want to create traffic, you need to make sure that users can post pictures - which again will mean you'll have to have some kind of moderation going on, or else you'll end up with goreporncp-extravagansa.
And yes, of course you can use some sort of ad-network, maybe tag the images to show ads that might have something to do with each image, but remember, most users of such sites might be smart enough to use some sort of ad-blocker.

Okay, one thing at a time for me, I am so slow with things (NOT REALLY - it's just that I have too many things going on at the same time haha) ---- Okay. facebook comments. I was going to do that and then come back here and say TADA --- but wait. I need one vital question answered. Should I go with a plugin or should I go through the facebook developers console.

The other day when I searched for how to add FB comments to wp, I was shown how to do it through facebook -- I dont remember the lady's blog (should have bookmarked it). And now, today I redid my search and another person is saying "The first thing you need to do is download this FB COMMENTS plugin".....

How would you guys go? I'm leaning on using facebook, no plugins. Because what if the plugin goes bankrupt or some such similar situation.

So, all this blither blather, and I just want to know should I go plugin, or go facebook console - for adding facebook comments to wp blog. They both seem to require an equal amount of effort. Thank you, and you get sick of me shoving funojoke in your face, I'm sorry :(

Plugins are usually a better bet - the chance of one "going bankrupt" isn't that high if you go for a well-known plugin, and there's no reason you couldn't continue using it even though the development stops - just don't buy anything - usually there's no need to pay for plugins in Wordpress. You can of course build it yourself, but that will mean you'll have to keep up if Facebook changes something - usually those creating plugins for such things are quick about updating their stuff, and then all you need to do is keep your plugins updated (which you should do anyway).

If you can do it without the plugin then that's the way to go, IMO from experience.

One less plugin to load, not be updated by the developer, etc...

Plus more plugins means more security risks. I would go FB console myself. I always prefer less things to deal with in the future, like having to deal with switching plugins BC the one being used isn't being updated, etc...
