I think the site could use some gradients, maybe a light gradient on the bottom and header

 

The place in the header above the main menu is empty, it may be a good idea to place hot news snippet there, everything else has a good style, is very clean and easy to read.

 

i like white+black. your desing is cool. in white+black pages, only the content is important. and google interested in contents, not the desing.

 

Because you are using images for buttons...I think you would benefit from making them a little more graphical.

a more defined logo with bigger fonts and bold colors would go a long way in building a perceived value in the site.
