Review Decision Please

I would like to ask that a decision to remove my topic be reviewed please.

The only reason I asked people to PM me, is because no one will want to post their email on a forum for spiders to pick up.

I understand this rule (and the reasoning behind it, and agree), but I am not asking people to PM me with information so I can set up an account, I am asking them to PM me their email so that it's not on a forum for spiders to pick up.

If you can think of a way for people to get their email account to me, so that I can create their account, I will amend the post. I could provide my email, but again, I don't want to post that on a forum.

I am not breaking this rule. This rule has been set up for people who do not provide the appropriate information (for the account), and wish to pull people into PM (where scams can occur). However, if you look at my post, you will see that I have explained everything clearly, and some people have already been set up and have commented that everything is legitimate. All I am trying to do is keep email addresses off the forum.

    Original Post
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1844101&p=14424898#post14424898

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Hard to say without knowing what your thread was about but asking members to pm you is not against the rules, creating accounts is and this may be the reason why it was removed.

    Thanks Brian

The only thing I am asking for via PM is an AlertPay email address to be associated with the account. That's it. There's nothing being conducted in PM. No deals, nothing. I can't ask people to put their email address on a public forum, which is why I am asking to send it to my PM.

Everything is explained clearly in the post. The website is referenced. The signup page is referenced. People can see exactly what they're getting prior to sending the AlertPay email via PM.

The reason this rule of no asking people to PM for more information to discuss accounts is because too many people were pulling scams and what-not. The reasoning is, if it need to be done in PM then it's not legit. I agree with that, except for one thing: In a case where an email is required, it absolutely cannot be done on the forums.

How can anybody review the decision if all you review to is people to pm you their emails? Your original post is gone.

I side against you based upon your stated evidence in this thread. ;)

I posted this here because I don't know which moderator made the decision. I am hoping that someone at DigitalPoint (who has access to the above URL) will see this thread and turn my original one back on, because there's absolutely no under-table deals going on. I would post the original thread here, but of course 1). That would result in another problem, and this thread might be closed too 2). Members who can't see the above thread (and can't do anything about it) don't need to see it.

However, for anyone's curiosity, I have explained absolutely everything in the thread itself. There's absolutely nothing extra being provided via PM (and no reference to anything being provided via PM), no special deals, no nothing. It's just that in order to provide people with access, I need their email (which, for obvious reasons) can't be posted on a public forum. It is up to the person providing the email to make a call on whether they want to provide it or not (that doesn't need to be moderated, as we're all adults and are capable of making decisions for ourselves).

Additionally, several people have already had an account set up, and have posted on the thread, stating that everything is fine and there's no problem. Again, absolutely all relevant details are in the original thread, and whoever wants an account has complete and full information - all questions and information are provided and handled in the thread. I am not asking people to PM me so that I can give them information. Everything is handled in the thread (besides the email, which cannot be posted on a forum).

Why not shoot an email to a mod and ask for reconsideration? If it's against the site's tos, I'm sure they will provide a reason. I don't have a problem with sending an email to you. I personally wouldn't use alertpay, but everybody makes their own choices. Keep us posted.

..additionally, if any moderators want to set up an account to see for yourself. I am perfectly happy to do that. You will see that everything is stated clearly, factually and in full -- in the original thread and I do not need to provide any person with any additional information via PM (which would be breaking the rules)m, but I am not doing that so I am not breaking the rules. I just need an AlertPay email so whoever wants an account can receive referral commissions. It's simple. Closing this thread was an erroneous.

AlertPay is a corporate, global system that is well supported and trusted.

The reason for closing my thread is what I am debating. In my opinion (and it's a pretty emphatic one), I did not break the rule that they claim that I broke. They projected what they "thought" I was doing onto the thread, and then closed it (and gave me an infraction). I don't care about the infraction, because it's just a number and doesn't do anything. But I do care about the many people that were interested in my offer and now I can no longer respond to them.

Also, DigitalPoint doesn't tell you which moderator made the decision, so I have no avenue to pursue. No one to ask.

You can google "alertpay scam" for any "indications" there may be cause for concern. It doesn't appear - and from what I have heard for what it's worth - to be sound as a pound. But what do I know? If it floats somebody's boat, that's all that matters. I wouldn't use it.

"AlertPay is a corporate, global system that is well supported and trusted."

I find your above statement outrageous.

You brought AlertPay up. It's reason enough for me to think it's a shady deal on your part - if you want my honest opinion. You are asking for reasons for why you have been wronged. You are referring to an entity that is shady at best.

    You're obviously a troll.

    Reasoning:

    1). Post count
    2). Username
3). Several attempts to derail the topic with garbage.

I will no longer respond to you.

No~ Because you're being a pain in the ass, trying to hijack his thread.

Without us being able to see the original thread, we can't voice our opinion.

    PM a moderator.

I have already contacted a moderator (DigitalPoint). No one is responding or replying.

It is really frustrating when moderators keep killing and deleting posts (for very little reason). It seems that some moderators delete stuff just because they can. It makes posting on DigitalPoint really "touchy". When I make a post, the first thing I think is: "will this one go bye bye too?". It makes it hard to want to put any effort into being a community member of this place.

How are we supposed to remain professional if when you post something and make contacts with other members, the post could go missing at any given point (with no contact and no recourse)? If any moderator will care to look at this situation, you will find that I did not break any rules and that an over-zealous moderator acted a bit heavy handed. All I asked was for emails to be sent to PM so that they're not being posted on a public forum. That is complete and utter logic.

I am honestly afraid to post in DigitalPoint -- too many of my posts disappear for no real reason (and the reasons cited often make me shake my head and think: "Haven't you got something better do do?". I am sick of shrugging these decisions off. Then when I try to find out what's going on, it's labeled as "complaining". Look, I just want to be able to use the forums without being kicked all over some corner gutter by a ghost I can't see. So there you have it - that's my feedback. I'm not happy.

I've been patient. I offered logic. I tried to be professional and polite. This is not good enough DigitalPoint. It's just plain out not.

They can't reopen it as far as I know.

    Once it's deleted, it's gone. (I think)

I honestly wonder I bother with this place.. seriously.

I will go and re-post the exact same thread, but instead of asking me to send me their email via PM, I'll send them to a sign-up form which will send me their alertpay email and a desired username via my email. Same bloomin' thing, except I have to jump through hoops because some clown doesn't know the difference between when something NEEDS to be shared via PM and when people ask for PM before explaining more info. I din't do that, I don't break no bloody rules. People really annoy me..

If my post gets deleted again for NO REASON, I'm going to have a major royal hissy fit and it wont be pretty. Get some decent moderators. That's my "FEEDBACK" - but obviously no one reads this section, or gives a flying rats arse what members who spend time around here (making money forTHIS site) think!
