Seems a little too plain if you ask me. Also the content is pushed down too much, perhaps narrow the top navigation menu or place it somewhere else?
I think you need a better header. That really brings down the quality of you site. The site layout is great, but the header brings it down.
Thanks for the links to those pet sites. I can see what you mean, I will try and see what I can do with it. As for the header I've placed it at a lot of place now. I've changed it two times but I will give it sometime and they edit it if I can. Thanks everyone.
Maybe i dont get it but, what is the main purpose of the site (monetization)? Is it to sell pet products or to place Adsense ads etc. The answer to this question would be really helpful to see if the home page/design are adequate.
Well mainly my purpose to creating sites it not to make money, my first reason is to provide web users with information and fun to the site, like a forum (which is included). As the site is just starting I haven't really pulled everything out publicly as I want to build up a base first. I don't have adsense on there, I keep asking if they accept cheque but I am yet to find an answer. I'm 14 so can't actually set it up myself because of the age requirements.
I think you could try to place Newsflash, Latest News, Popular to the right column, and try to change the font for the logo, to make it cute you do not need to use unreadable fonts. Try it in white Arial Black, to make it cute rotate one the letters, also try painting that letter red.
