    Hello everyone,

Please review my latest FREE directory, CowDir. CowDir is powered by phpLD with a custom layout that makes it one of the more interesting new directories out there.

We're aiming for 1,000 link submissions within the first week. We're about 700 short, but we still have 5 days to go. Anyway, what do you think of the design? What can I do to improve it? Suggestions on ad placement?

    Thanks,
    Luke

    Hi Luke -

Cute theme. Clean design. If you want people to click your ads you might want to consider putting a adsense line in between the grey menu bar and the category listings.

I like the stats at the bottom. Is that a feature built into PHPLD?

    I liked cowdir ~ Nice & simple ..things i have noticed >>

    * In subcategories introduce hover effect to distinguish b/w subcategories and to make it catchy

    * In Top-Bar place one Link to your Home Page

    * Other than that your site is awesome ~ easily loaded with me ..Best of Luck!!

I like the layout. I agree with microbrain, about placing a link to the home page in the top bar.

    Hello Sticky Carrots.

Just had a look at your site. I have to say that the design is quite nice. Simple and to the point.

    My Review

    Navigation
You need a home and contact link. It is difficult to find your way back... some people don't understand the breadcrumbs... and that you can actually get back to the home page with this.

I'd also suggest that you have the paged links open in a new window instead of taking you away from your own site. This threw me off a little.

    About
I think for the newbies out there. It would be nice to have a little explainer about a directory and how it would benefit them.

Thats my quick review for you. Hope it helps.

    Respectfully.

I think that in general the site is OK. It could use a bit more color, or a different color added to its palette. It is also a bit plain looking, so building some of the "cute" you have in the header to spread amongst the site might be advantageous.
