Can you guys please review my new website, catchyurl.co, a url shortener that creates memorable urls like catchyurl.co/EskimoHill instead of bit.ly/Eq23YS? Let me know what you think of the idea, design, etc. Thanks a lot!
It's really cool. I think it's one of the best out there I've seen so far. Having said that, I think the advantage you're offering (a memorable URL) can become your disadvantage. For instance, I've just shortened the URL of this thread and this is what I've got: catchyurl.co/BlackPigLime If I was shortening my business page, I wouldn't want the word Pig or Lime in it. Maybe there's a way for you guys to actually eliminate the words that can be perceived as disadvantageous such as Pig, Dirt, Lime and whatever else you may have there.
I agree with qwikad. Of course having a "memorable" name is good, but it could make non-sense sometime... The best solution would be to give the possibility to the user to think and write a memorable name to use, for example: Url to shorten: ____ Url shortened: catchyurl.co/_____ (random if empty) Anyway, design is simply delicious!
