    Not bad, but the red titles should have rounded corners to have the same style as the main banner.

    but the ads are of general nature not specific to the home improvement. Seo the keywords to get relevant ads

    Pretty simple and clear. I like it !
    I think you should remove some of the "Advertise Here" boxes (one is enough), they are too many and make you website looks pretty pour in content.
    Add some partner/friend's banners until you have some real advertisers.

    Not bad, but I'm not a huge fan of the background image. For some reason, to me it doesn't "fit" with home improvment.

    Nice H1 headings.
    Side bar width is too big.
    Post don't have to show the whole article on the main page. Use wordpress "read more" feature.
    Good use of pictures.
    The layout can use darker borders.
    Content seems to unique, that a big positive

    Market it well or it's just another wordpress blog :)
