    I need some recommendations for improvements. Should I leave the topics as minimal as possible until there's some activity? Does the layout look alright? Any and all recommendations appreciated.

    I think it would help if you include some images related to your contents. It looks kind of blank without it. The rest like navigation and layout should be ok.

    Valid point, do you think some sort of slide show linking to certain news threads might be okay?
