Looking to learn some stuff from the pros. I just -know- I can make more than $10-$15 a day with this site with 7000 content views/day and 800 registered members.... http://feedfury.com Until last night I only had the banner ad on the "view content" page before the "More from this feed" section.. Note: I shrink some leaderboard ads to banner size for those with screen <= 800 pixels... Thanks for any advice!
There's a link unit on top for "New Feeds" and for each of the 3 "Top 100" sections. A link unit on the left beside "Back to Top" on certain pages (view top 100, view content (click a content link), etc). A banner after #50 in the top 100 and below the top 100 pages and New Feeds pages... No ad when browsing categories yet, except for the bottom link unit next to 'Back to Top', if it's there. Thanks for looking
Yes, it works now. Well, you should move your ads above the fold. The leaderboard (728 x 90) is pretty much useless down there. Move it to the top
Thank you for the advice - I will definitely remove the lower leaderboard. What did you think of the one after #50 in the Top 100 listing? It's a bit boring there.... Also I didn't want to add a leaderboard to the top of the page... If no ads are able to be shown a blank space will result. That's why I put the link unit on top - to keep the site's fluid look as much as possible If I do want a leaderboard it's time to make some alternate ads and try it out up top, I guess. I don't think I'll like it, though.. Thanks for the feedback! DW
You're right, but I'm finding it difficult with the design I have... Adding a leaderboard between the "expanded listings" (ie. New Feeds page), such as after the first one, would look bad... too much white space.. I'm a firm believer in minimal ads and I just can't seem to minimize them enough. :S Left and right bar vertical banners are ok, but they didn't seem to perform well when I had them... Maybe I'll try the standard banner size between listings so the page isn't overloaded with ads. Thanks for the feedback
