Has anyone used any reverse SEO strategy's to stop start-up competitors from potential competing in your market? What I mean by this is, say you already have a very strong "user base", or client-tell and have already established your niche specific keywords, so you start other small based keyword oriented websites which are related to your site say "Fan-Sites" of the sort to drop competitors down in SEO. Anyone tried this? Sure it'll cost a few bucks, and some time. But I know it has to greatly beneficial. I know one way of doing this would be KEYWORD domains.
yes you can do that strategy but takes alot of money and effort. and don't forget "fan sites" should have unique content and no backlink to your main website unless each website hosted in different server.
correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know doing reverse SEO is illegal right? Yes it would be beneficial to your site but isn't that cheating? and when you get caught you will be punish?
reverse SEO is one of the strategy use by others, it is the reverse method of SEO. instead of using techniques to make the page rank higher you will use technique to make the ranking of the page lesser.
