Reverse check a mail server setting?

    Hi all,

    Is there a way to check the dns settings of mail.domain.com?

    1/ I need to know of a client has a seperate mail server. I know the host their website at one of the big hosting companies and i am in the midst of emailing/phoning the helpdesk :mad:
    2/ Client has/had an "IT" guy who is on backpack holiday :(

    any tips/info???

    You could check the IP using Windows' ping command or whatever, then attempt to connect to telnet to whois it?
