If you mean that you're charging a membership fee, then the revenue would be whatever the fee is times how many people you get to pay it.

no, peter. If you take a look at poker forums, you'll notice there's one thing they all have in common. They all(just about) monetize through poker affiliate ads.

If someone were to find out how many page views on average it takes for someone to click your affiliate banner, then find the ratio for conversion on banner clicks by the average lifetime value of that affiliated membership, you're on your way to knowing how much people are worth.

or something like that... maybe not.

Sounds to me like you are focusing on making money and less on making a community. Big mistake. Your members are way more valuable than the affiliate or CPC money they bring in. Actually, your active members aren't usually the ones clicking your ads. It is the visitors that come to your site and then click an ad and leave.

Fairly low value most poker players participate on forums to discuss strategy, for entertainment, etc. I think if you have a forum it would be best having other landing pages to try and convert the traffic.

I agree with the post above it would be best having landing pages maybe with free guides where you can get peoples emails, and then maybe you can email the promos. When i first started playing online poker I was a big sucker when it came to online poker guides. Just an idea.

You are totally right but this is not the true fact that active members aren't usually click on ads.
Poker forum with lots of active members become more valuable.
