Revenue Sharing - how does the code work?

I had a look around at the revenue sharing concept for forums and think it's really a good one. I have a couple of questions though. In the FAQ on this site for example it says you wont be able to click on your own ads because they wont be shown for you. How does this work and whats stopping everyone from going nuts and just starting to click on all the ads?
I'm just a bit confused at what the safeguards are and how they do their job?

There are two things stopping people from clicking their own ads over and over again. Like was mentioned above your ads aren't shown to you. The second thing is the google TOS. It would be completely stupid for anyone to go nuts clicking the ads over and over again because google would count those as fraudulent clicks which would eventually result in them terminating your account.
