I just installed revenue sharing at my forum site to attract new members to join and post new messages.

This is the requirements that I set:

    Min Posts to join: 25
New Message Thread: 30% revenue sharing
Last Message Posted in Thread: 20% revenue sharing

What does anyone think of revenue sharing and the above configuration?

    How did you install it?

Is there a script you could buy or pay someone to do it.

I have a forum but someone i was speaking to the other day was looking for exactly this.

Do you have any links you could post for more info please

I purchased a version of the software that did not work 100%. So the basic plugin is not mine. I then made a lot of modifications to get it to work the way that I wanted it to.

The concept is very simple. But since the plugin is not mine I can not give you any technical details on the product. This may violate a copyright.

But I have heard that a free verision of a similiar product is soon to be released at vbulletin.org

With your % assignment, people will strive to be the last person to post on each thread, making the discussions endless, and some people might even bring up long dead threads.

Thats the first thing I thought of. Perhaps get rid of that part to discourage constant thread squatters.

Is this the line that you are speaking of?

    -----
New message threads and replying to messages must be appropiate to the forum section. Any message spamming is not permitted. We do not want users to create random messages just to earn money.

That's good that you have that restriction, new thread spamming might be harder to do, but posting in threads just to be the last one isn't really that hard to mask so it doesn't seem like spam.

Anyway, perhaps you can first test it out and see if it will work.

I wanted to avoid reply's like 'I agree' or 'Yes' as the entire message in multiple threads. They may make these posts just to get to the 25 posting count or to be the last message in the thread. I already asked the moderators to look out for this and to delete these messages if they are seen.

Maybe you can set a limit for the last message in each thread. For exemple one month. If a new post 3 months after is made, only the last one before one month will have the 20%

Or you can do that the 20% for the last post has a three months limit, after that only the thread poster will get 30% (and you get back the 20%)
