Hi Folks, I have a site which has been doing quite well recently, and my visitors stats are increasing each day quite significantly. on 12th March, I had 3255 uniques, 22192 pages and 67155 hits according to awstats. Does anyone know which are real hits? I have a lot of externally linked images, which I am guessing are included in the hits count. So lets say I get 22192 page views a day (and upwards), what sort of revenue can I estimate from a program like adwords? lets say theres a 0.8% clickthrough = 177 clicks per day, and lets say 20c per click = $35 a day? Is that a reasonable estimate? Cheers for any advice you can offer...
When you say "adwords", I'm guessing you meant "adsense", right? If you're running CPM banners, the page views are good indicators of potential revenue. When it comes to Adsense, go with unique visitors. How much you can make depends on what type of site you have, which determines what kind of ads get served on your site, which determines your site's earning potential. In short, it all depends on what type of site you have, but as a rule of thumb, more traffic does tend to mean more earning potential. One of my sites does 5,000 uniques a day and makes around $20, but it's for a very low-paying keyword.
Yeah, earning potential with Adsense is kind of hard to "guesstimate", as it were. It really all depends on your site's theme and how much people are willing to pay to get on your site. But in general, if you have 3K uniques/day, you SHOULD, generally speaking, be doing some decent income. Even if you had a mediocre keyword, or even a low-paying keyword, $20/month SHOULD be within reach. Do you want to tell us what field your site is in?
hmm, $20/month or $20/day? The site is question offers users a number of online tools and javascript code etc..
I think Jack meant per day. That amount of traffic is good. Your amount is going to depend on your sites topic and keywords. So you might earn .04 cents per click or $1.00 per click. This will all be determined by your site and the advertisers and the amount they bid on these keywords.
It's sure that the revenue depends on the keywords.. The keywords related to technology & medicine pays more. But it's only the case when your site is in that domain. In mysite with a very low userbase i'm making a few bucks daily as 5-8 clicks is enough to give me $5..
Yep, it is pretty annoying! The thing is, this isnt even the website in question, its just on the same host as the other site!!! argh
