Revenue from an Image gallery

Does any1 have a picture gallery with adsense?
Is it an earner or a waste.

I just started one. So far I'm going with waste (at least on google ads). But I have other reasons to have one than google ads alone. If you gallery requires people to sign up, you have their contact info. And if you word your TOS/Privacy Policy right you can use that info to promote other sites .

You can download ecard scripts in the Internet and put it on your gallery - ore instead you can download 4images Gallery, it is a picture gallery WITH ecards.

Today I have made XX$ Adsense earnings with my free ecard Site because it was Valentine`s Day today (better to say yesterday ) here in our Country - also the same on Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day and New Year. But only on these days!! On the other normal days earnings are not so much with this Site. So it is a Idea to put an ecard script at a picure gallery.

But I have to mention:
It took me one year hard work (not everyday, but often) at my Site to reach it!! You need much traffic.
And I am listed at Dmoz and Google Directory, and my site is good listet at Google Image Search, this helps also.

 

I have over 20,000 high resolution automotive wallpaper images online. When a big car show is on, my visits sktrocket, and my earnings increase, but my CTR decreases as people are only coming to the site to view the pictures, not to read the information and click ads.

I've been meaning to look into e-cards, but installing a script to remember each individual image of what is already an image script, makes it difficult.

 

Sorry to bother again. How is that represented in numbers?
BTW Where do you get all those images from?

it is forbidden to reveal any information about ur adsense account, you could be banned from it

As for where the pictures come from, I get the mfrom media websites. Media websites are websites created by the car manufacturer & tuner companies to allow members of the press access to them to download the latest news, images, videos etc.

I have access to over 280 media sites [more than all my competitors who I speak with fairly regularily - we all get along well, share info etc, nice big community we have created amongst ourselves].

It took me a year to set the site up to the point where visitor numbers were of a decent nature, so if your interested in it go nuts.

PS: No I won't give you media access to any sites lol

 

Is the clickthrough OK? How is the CPC?
How many uniques is the normal day for you?
I am working on a website for a specific car with a more gallery oriented nature and a few articles. Will be nice if you give me a hint for those media sites

 

Ok, well perhaps you should take a look at my other website, www.Bugatti-Veyron-16-4.com. Its set up as a niche site for the Bugatti Veyron. CTR is anywhere from 7%-32% with under 1000 unique visitors / day.

As for ECS.com, the CTR is a measely .2 or .3% on a good day, so I wouldn't recommend a fully grown automotive wallpaper website if what your site is going to be just wallpapers as it seems.

The reason why the Bugatti-Veyron-16-4 performs decently is because it contains quite a few informative articles about the car, and according into AdSense Channels, the pages with the articles are the ones performing the best.

I am not going to go that much to wallpapers, but I do have a section with some. It will be more articles and news oriented ... hopefuly

 

do what I did with the Bugatti site, just don't put any AdSense ads on it and you should be fine.

 

What do you mean by no Adsense on it...?

 

WIth the wallpaper page, to keep the CTR up throughout the site and with the odds of the ad being clicked on are going to be minimal [since everybody is just there for the wallpapers], just don't put a text related ad on the wallpapers page.

I use joomla and somehow it does not want to remove them from the images pages.

 

i just checked it out, and there was a psa in the top banner slot... bummer.

the reason your ctr is so low for the main site is because you don't have any text for adsense or the search engines to target... the only adsense i saw was for other wallpaper sites!

overhaul those pages... add some text, and locate the adsense where it can be seen.

 

But what text do you add to a wallpaper site?

No one wants to read about a wallpaper, everyone wants to just download them. Its a crappy niche market, and I wouldn't recommend it.

 

I use the ALT text to tell google what the pictures are about and some news column to add some more text.
I get quite targetted ads this way. Ahhh can't wait to launch the site

 

I make money off the ads in my photo gallery for vBulletin. It's called vBPicGallery and requires vBulletin 3.5 software to run.
