revenue for this site?

I wanted to know how much revenue you would expect from ads on a site that has 2 million page views per month and 200,000 vitiors a month. it is a community based site for hollywood where users comment on photos etc.

Depends how you're going to earn money.

Adsense? Movie sale commissions? Selling blog posts? Selling links?

With that much traffic, you should be able to do pretty well. Of course, even any ballpark numbers would require more info on ad placement, and quality of traffic...

we make 400$ only which is very low. ours is a community based site with 50% regular visitors. rest from google and other sites.

cant disclose our site at this point in time.

Ad placement perhaps? You of course don't want to hurt your current revenue, but try changing the ads around a little bit (different sizes, shapes, etc...)

 

200,000 uniques a month? a community based site is usually a low money maker with adsense. You have a nice traffic though so $xxx mid-high a month maybe?

Its a guess though, experiment.

 

It is just a low CTR niche, try other advertising means other than adsense

 

yes, low CTR . We tried different ad sizes, ad locations, nothing changed much.

We also tried different ad networks like chitika, tribalfusion but nothing changed much.


Any one has any suggestions on how to improve or tweaks for good ad revenue for a community based site...

From the 200,000 visitors a month, let's say every visitor averagely contribute to 5 cents to your adsense account. It's already $10k a month. That's pretty good.

 

There can be two problems:

1. Low CTR ( can be improved )
2. Low CPC ( Sorry to say but you have a low paying niche)

how much of that is image search traffic?

 

you can earn $2000++ per month if u use CPM ads with google ads

 

Your niche is a low paying one. Try looking at the actual ads adsense is putting there and see if you can join that company's ad program etc. sometimes that helps

 

We are using google adsense program, but from what is said in their docs and from i heard from support, there is no way to directly specify if its a CPC or CPM program . Google decides it. Any feedback on this?.

Also any tips on increasing CTR?. we have tried everything, but no much improvement.

CPC may be low because of a saturated market
To increase CTR make sure your users are in engaged with good content and other stuff that keeps them attracted to the site

 

Its hard to say, depends on what country the traffic comes from.
