I just want to see if I am not the only one, but my rev has dropped alot from March 31st to April 1st and hasn't regained its nomral/high revenue yet. Is this because the Holiday? Are any of you seeing the same deal as I am? I just want to make sure I wasn't Smart Priced.
This year has been pretty good for me with Adsense so far. But I must say on April 1, 2, and 3 so far without making any changes to my account... the payout per click has taken a major nose dive. To clarify my statements... my traffic has not dropped and my click through rates are still consistent. Revenue per click on average down about 40%. I might attribute this at first to certain advertisers adjusting their budgets.... BUT my portfolio of sites is very diverse and spread across a number of niches. So something is definitely going on. I wonder if once YPN pulls out and MSN really doesn't seem to want anyone but Giant Affiliates... that Google might just realize they can make webmasters work even harder for even less. I'm not an Adsense Rookie... this is year #7 for me. I'll know in a week or two if something is really in the works. But I think you are right... something is up.
Thats exactly what I am seeing, same traffic, same ctr, just alot less revenue. I just thought it might just me, but I guess I am not the only one. I guess we ned to wait and see if Easter had to do anything with it.
I have also same experience with you. Last March, my revenue seems good but it slowly going down as it enters April.
Nope. Still making the same amount (on avg), anyway, you really need to let April finish to determine it.
I am. Just going to see how it all pans out over the next few days/week. Just want to make sure I wasn't SmartPriced.
For me earnings are down since the beginning of the year. It is not because PPC is less but because CTR has gone down. CTR used to be around 8% but now it is around 2.5% on an average. In the month of December I put CPA gateway which earned me double than the adsense for that month but I believe that gateway is responsible for drp in the Adsense CTR rate.
Hey, I'm in the exact same boat.. Ever since I received the "you can now display ads from certified 3rd party sites.." notification, my earnings from late March to early April took a huge nose dive.. I was becoming discouraged with Adsense, however before I took some of it off, today it looks like it's paying catch up.. Today looks like one of my best days, so perhaps I'm being paid money that was owed to me or Google fixed some things and is not playing catch up?
I think one cannot make any conclusion with a weeks data. Lets wait for another 2-3 weeks so that any decision could be made.
Most people in the U.S. and Canada are taking a four day weekend starting on April 2nd. This means no one is at work or school during this period (including advertisers). Revenue should get back to normal on the 6th.
I found this thread when researching the question "adsense down" - because I am concerned about the sudden nosedown in my earnings as well - across a broad range of sites. Hope this is just a function of the long weekend.....
I think you traffic source is change as google doing experiment in search engine algo. And may be due to Holidays
