I started this blog mainly as a novelty, here is the blurb: The Shame Job Blog exposes the Art of Online War and promotes blogs that humiliate. Got an axe to grind? Stick a red hot poker up their ass online with a blog that tells your story and humiliates them publically. So if anyone has a blog (or site for that matter) that aims to humiliate or expose a company or individual - let me know I want to review it in my blog and link to yours. Blog: http://shamejob.blogspot.com/ Email: shamejob[at]gmail[dot]com I have heard of a few (I see Shawn has one - nice job) some are really serious and others are just flat out funny. Either way, not everyone has the power Shawn does to link to stuff and blogs dedicated to public humiliation are not the easiest I would imagine to get links to... so I thought, why not see what kind of blogs of this nature are out there and give them a boost in the serps. Anyone know of other blogs or sites people have set up to humilitate or expose?
Agreed... you probably are on pretty shaky ground as far as libel goes. Since your stated goal is to publicly humiliate your target. I assume you are referring to my Winn and Sims blog. But if you look at it closely, there isn't any libel going on. It's basically just a timeline account of facts.
You're just linking to someone elses blog. As long as you state FACT, then I don't see how you would get in trouble.
You can be sure I was pretty careful to not commit anything that could be construed as libel on my blog. Especially with the content being about a law firm (not a small one at that).
I guess I should find out about this as it's probably a good topic to post about for the bloggers whose sites I review. In terms of my blog though, just linking to other's blogs and keeping to language like... this blog claims / states etc. should'nt put me in the hot water - either way I have no intention of revealing my own identity.
How long do you think it would take a lawyer to track you down if his client felt libeled. I do not believe there is anonymity online. Shannon
Good point, any lawyers here? Is it ok to review other people's statements and report "they said / wrote." Or am I in trouble too if they get in trouble because I link to them and 'promote' their statements?
I am not a lawyer .. but I can tell you that you won't get into trouble reviewing other people's statements ... the worst that can happen is you would have to take them down should they get into trouble. Linking to them and specifying that they are the source is actually what will protect you
Thanks payoutwindow, that sounds like common sense. So far I'm finding it hard to locate bloggers with attitude... seems either there are not enough shitty people out there or I just can't locate their blogs. I'm thinking either this means there is no need for my blog or a big need for my blog... What's the go?
I don't know how you are looking .. but here .. let me get you going .... http://www.winn-and-sims.com/
