Ok. Now I understand what you are asking. On your hidden source blog you want the following in your robots.txt User-agent: * Disallow: / Code (markup): This will block all compliant robots from indexing the entire site. I say "compliant" because there are a few rogue bots out there that will index whatever they find, without respecting the robots.txt standard. If you want to be really fancy and secure you could block all source sites (referrers) other than you child blogs from seeing the site at all. However I haven't taken that step, so I won't speak on it. Secondly you can modify the robots.txt on your child sites so that even if, for some reason, a link back to your source blog sneaks through, the S.E. bots won't follow it there. Here's the entry to do that: User-agent: * Disallow: http://xxxxxxxxxx.sourceblog.com/ Code (markup): And that's it. Let me know if you need more info. Good luck!
Thank you...the code for the main obsure blog is the one I have now so I got that right, just hope I loaded it right...and I will use the code for the child blogs...I'm beginning to see what you are doing here, as I work at it, its becoming clearer...I will keep you informed of how its going... Oh, when you create your blog, the one for the obsure site, do you just give it any name since it doesn't matter? Also I guess it really doesn't matter about the privacy settings since we have the robots.txt in place, is that correct?
You want the name for the obscure on to be so ridiculously long and random that no human being would ever even think of typing it, even if he somehow came across the address. Likewise I've heard it said that Google, and perhaps other search engines will not index any page with a URL longer than 256 characters. I have neither tested that, nor is my secret blog URL that long (I made it a random string of letters and numbers) but in theory that should give you an added level of security. Just remember that the key is to never reveal the URL of your secret blog to anyone. Even a single link on an indexed site to your secret blog will potentially lowe the pagerank of the child-blogs.
Great post. I have a question about the settings on the source blog. Should I set it to Full Text or Summary? Also I'm using a free Wordpress template and you know how the author leaves links back to his site, do I need to disable these as well or is the robots.txt enough? Thanks
Thanks for your question. You definitely want Full Text, as opposed to Summary. Also, for SEO purposes you want to minimize your number of outgoing links. To that end I recommend only using free themes that either don't stipulate a requirement to maintain the dev links in the license documentation, or that lack license documentation. If there is not stipulation to keep the links then you should definitely remove those links. But don't run afoul of the law by removin links from a template that states plainly that the links must remain. Doing so would not only be opening yourself up to a potential lawsuit, if the your site becomes a hit and the dev decides that he/she wants a cut, but it would also be profoundly uncool.
Yes I made the obsure subdomain very long...for the wordpress blog's name, like XXXXX.wordpress.com is it also a ridiculous long name also? Thanks.
Not at all. Perfectly acceptable. Just remember that while hosting at Wordpress.com is great since it is free, I don't think that you will be able to run any of the good RSS poster plugins without your own hosting. I recommend FEEDWORDPRESS and WP-O-MATIC as RSS aggregator plugins. I also use the ALLINONESEO plugin as well as others.
I've got all my hosting for my domains at hostgator...is that what you are referring to when you speak of hosting? Does wordpress offer hosting packages? I was just using them for the blogs...maybe I'm missing something here...lol
That was my next question since WP-o-Matic allows you to add custom links As for the all-in-one-seo-pack would this be on your source blog? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the idea was to try and hide it. Thanks
Thanks for you comment. I should have made it clear that all plugins go onto the child blogs ONLY. No plugins should be installed on the source blog. So any mention that I have made, or that I do make in the thread about plugins is referring to the child blogs. Thanks for the Quality Control Bob25.
I'm not quite sure what the subdomain with the random name e.g.j9jf94fjf9j.whatever.com has got to do with the other subdomains... can you help me on that please? how much can you look to see after a month on 10 niches then?
The cryptic subdomain is the url for your source blog. You have a name for it with random letters and numbers so that there is as close to 0% chance of anyone reaching that page as possible. Only your child blogs, you, and your hosting company should know that the source blog even exists. I hope that answers your question. If not, just write back. Thanks for your question.
Quick Note. Since so many of you PM'd me about finding an article spinner, here's a free online article spinner (also called an article re-writer) that I threw together quickly. It's not the best, far from it, but it's a start. Enjoy!
When you say PR4 Directories, is that just web directories or blog directories? Any chance of an example please. Thanks a lot
I did not read everything but, this looks like a lot of work but it actually isn't I am sure if you know what you are doing? Has anyone else had success or failure with it? Have you thought about setting this up for people and being payed for the work?
Thanks for your comment Shelby, I never said it was easy. If it was easy to make that kind of money online, everyone would be doing it. Making money online is just like making money offline: If you lack the drive and dedication to go through the required steps and to do the required research, then you will fail miserably - unless you can get someone else to do all of that for you. I gave away this blueprint for success, as I have developed and experienced it, free of charge to the DP community because this community educated me when I was a complete beginner in Online Business. This has been my way of giving back. If you ever see anyone say "Success Guranteed" about anything - RUN! Of course I cannot guarantee the success of any particular person, as there are too many variables involved to calculate, including the one I just described: Dedication (or the lack thereof). If you find this plan to be beneficial, please use it and write back with any improvements that you make in it so that we all can prosper. And thanks for your question regarding setting this up for others. Unfortunately I do not offer that service, since it is more lucrative for me to spend time setting up my own niches and sites than it could ever be doing it for others. That said, I do have an Ebook in the works (it's not done yet) that discusses the steps in more detail. If you want to, feel free to PM me to be put on the waiting list. I'll PM you back when it is ready to go. Thanks to everyone who has already contacted me with their suggestions for improvement regarding this plan. I am testing some of your suggestions as we speak and will update the thread with info on any that increase the effectiveness, with appropriate credit given to the contributors. Thanks again everyone.
Before reading this topic I already have 5 blogs and now on my way to make it 10. This is a MUST read for all autoblog blogger Hope you don mind for another 2 questions. 1. You mention you use inline text. I search through wp plugin but hardly able to find the suitable plugin. Mind to share the plugin name? 2. Regarding the "return page" for the affiliate offer, I'm using Azoogle but I don think they have this option. May I know which network you are using? Thanks for your great post and follow up.
I think i found the answer for the plugin myself after browsing 1 by 1 through the plugin page http://www.wpmarketer.com/
