Hey just figured out that my company has an old site which already has a pr of 5, also has good pr4 and pr3's throughout. The domain has been registered since 2001 it has 216 links pointing to it according to yahoo it has 5 links according to google you guys think its better to work on this or start a new one? It would need quite a bit of revamping to make it incorporate good seo.. (title, headings, keywords in link images..) however i'm thinking this site might still be a better bet. The current site content is poor but at least the same topic
It really all depends on the specific site. Some sites are easier to revamp, some are completely useless and need to be scrapped.
its a company one.. this is more about which can rank better sooner, we have the ability to do a revamp since i work full time doign site design.. also we can afford to hire content writers.
I think revamping the old site would be a better choice than starting an altogether new one. With a new site you will have to start from scratch with the link building, ranking and SEO alongwith the design and development part. As you mentioned, the existing site already has a PR5 and good incoming links so revamping the existing site would be better imo.
