ok koi29, lets be clear here. Your problem is you have one or more files in a folder that don't show the ads? This sometimes causes your site to not validate with co-op. Your options are to: Change those pages so the ads appear or Disallow the robots and ask google to de-index those pages. While trying to use robots.txt you don't want to disallow the entire folder. This is why I mentioned you can disallow individual files. Am I missing something?
No ! The files "inside" the folder are showing ads its the folder itself. ie DP reports no ads showing at http://www.mydomian/loans/ Inside the /loans/ folder I have several files that are indexed & showing ads. Google has for some reason indexed the FOLDER Thanks for the time your putting inti this btw.
OH!!!! Ok. Now that I know what we are talking about. What is shown when you navigate to the folder address? Do ads show there? I'm kinda thinking out loud now...possible to redirect the folder address without redirecting the contents? Is there a link somewhere pointing to the folder that causes the prob? Try asking google to remove that URL http://services.google.com/urlconsole/controller
I had pulled the site but thought you may want a URL example so I switched it back on & it re-validated (7k weight ) so no immediate problem, but experience tells me it will sooner or later fail an auto validate. I sort of inherited the site & all told 3 people have built it.Originally file extensions were .htm but I have trouble with .htaccess (always seem to collapse the site) so I followed an online tutorial & did a mod-rewrite redirect changing the site to php extensions. Everything worked fine for a while then the redirect stopped working.Host says nothing their side, I retried to redirect but failed. Now I have htm & php indexed. My point is the site is a bit of a mish mash - so no idea if "Is there a link somewhere pointing to the folder that causes the prob?" It is not just one folder - its several. When you go to the folder URL it simply lists everything inside (the files/titles) something like a very basic sitemap. What do you mean a "default html file".
Typically if you put a file titled default in a folder, it will show when you navigate to the folder, instead of showing the folder directory. So if you come up with a page that shows co-op ads and whatever else...title it default.html, put it in the problem folder, it may take care of the problem
