Captains are chosen only after analyzing their game skills and managing skills. When the selection board and comittees give hand during victories, why do they just show the doors of exit when the serie sis gone? If internal politics is all about deciding the value of a skipper, what is the real value of his game or his records?
All too often a failure to get to the very top is blamed on those at the top, rather than that the collective were not quite good enough. But, the buck has to stop somewhere, and this happens in most big organisations whether sporting or otherwise.....I guess it just goes with the territory.
