Results in Google keep changing!

It's really annoying me as sometimes google shows that I'm in the top 10 for a very competive word and then another time I check the ranking I'm on on the 3rd page!

The number of results also change, either 32,100,000 or 133,000,000!

Please tell me how do I check to see what I will hopefully rank for?

    Let me know your thoughts,

Google uses multiple datacenters so it isn't a matter of "Whats my real ranking?". You may rank #1 when you search but I could search at the exact same time and see you at 500. If you want to see where you rank on specific datacenters, you can monitor them all with McDar's datacenter watch.

The tool at DP is excellent although it won't solve your problem as it only pulls from one datacenter.

If they keep changing all the time then you can never say you rank in the top 10 can you, because it's always changing. It's annoying as I never know where I stand with rankings. Yeah just signed up for the DPranking tool, looks excellent.

As your rankings gain in stability, you will find you rank similarly over a lot of datacenters so the change is less apparant.

Can you tell which of McDar's data centers apply to geographical areas?
eg I'm trying to get good in USA only. I am no1. for a 40,000 a month term in overture, but get no traffic. I think this is because I'm 55th in several of the datacenters, and probably 55th in all that face USA. (104,105,147 centers in particular)
    Can you advise?
