Results 1 - 10 of about 1,540,000

As the update continues does anyone have an idea about the numbers shown as the results. If you see the results go up and up what does that mean. I will give an example to see if that will help with the question that I have.

In one of the keywords that I am going after the results number continues to go up. Now this is for when you see what I think will be the final update and also on datacenters that are not updated to the full index. The keyword has 1,540,000 as of today but yesterday it had 1,510,000 and the day befor that it had 1,490,000. Now on the datacenters that I do not think are fully updated they were 863,000 as of today, 847,000 yesterday and 810,000 the day before that. There was also one set of datacenters that had 1,290,000 for all three days. Now the results that showed on the first two pages are identical for the datacenter that had 863,000 and 1,290,000 but the one that had 1,540,000 is completely different listings.

With that information what have others seen Google end up with on the results when the update is over? Does google go with the highest number of results? Does Google take those highest number of results and then scrub them to get out the junk listings? Is it safe to say that there is still an update going on due to the differences in datacenters and the difference in results from day to day? Is google rebuilding the results and that is why there is a large amount of changes?

Any thoughts or answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated,

    Bela
