Restricted cookies from DoubleClick?

I just noticed that browser/s restrict cookies from Google's doubleclick. The eye symbol, in bar down/below in IE, with the red-stop-circle symbol on it and it shows on all sites that publish doubleclick ads. Adsense cookies are fine. If thousands of people do not allow these cookies in their browsers manually, does this have effect on earnings? What happens when people click on doubleclick ads through their browser that restricts to allow cookis from the website?! Do we get payed for these clicks or are they all recorded? Cheers

You are on to something. There are (and have been for a very long time) a number of programs that block cookies. Think of all the security programs out there. Cookies will fall by the wayside in time. And then how will affiliates be paid commissions? It's already a big problem.

And as Google pushes harder into Microsoft's Core Business model it wouldn't surprise me to see many more cookies disappearing. Google has dumped big money into Firefox as another shot against Microsoft. Court battles will determine the real landscape of Internet Commerce.

And don't be too surprised if the Government steps in and really messes things up. States are already salivating at the prospect of taxing internet commerce.
