Created a new south indian srilankan, restaurant website, please review: www.anandabhavan.co.uk and tel your valuable comments
It looks pretty clean. In your menu section I would write up more descriptive terms of your dishes. Something to draw the customer in... they must be made to desire your food.
The template looks very simple and the contents is not properly aliged when we view in opera browser(9.64).Check it out.
Also, the text is touching the image slide show on the very top right "dosa - read more". Give some space between text and image. Overall looks pretty good.
Your site is slow in loading. In site navigation use only "/" instead of /index.html, as you know home page is different from /index.html. Your page is of 7.39 kb but loading time is big, opt to lower jw scripting, image size in bytes. Submit your site to bookmarking sites - digg, delicious, and more and appropriate catagaries of directories, because you have o back links. Keyword meta is missing. south - 14 times 5.53% & indian 13 times 5.14% - lower the density to 2%. Prepare sitemap.xml file and submit via google webmastertool to get faster indexing by google. You are not using custom 404 page, this help if people trying with wrong url.
Good but I think your header banner should have different color , may be it will looks better with same logo as footer. And text color is light, so I would suggest to make it pure black , Hope that helps Thanks.
Those images made me hungry I think you should add images of your restaurant itself to the site...I like your simple design but you may want to use darker colors.
The images need some work to avoid the 'crowding with the text'. Add a little more space and perhaps a nice border.
I agree with Coolorangefreeze, you need to entice customers in with whats available. Also its just my opinion but some warmer colours might make the resteraunt have more of an indian feel to it.
I love Indian cuisine... especially northern indian. Anyways I would suggest you use more pictures of food to captivate your visitors. Try using animated / flash to rotate pictures while only using a small space.
Site is good , but don't put so much of content on front page, you can talk about it in inside pages and can index important features on front page.
*Design - very clean, modern I love it *Content - food and drinks *Layout - well done *Domain - better with .com not .co.uk *First Impression - going to eat at your restaurant *Usability - very easy to use (I like the menu.. add some prices though)
Its a united kingdom, Birmingham website so I choose .co.uk yes the home page contents needs to be reduced especially the scripts.
