    Hi guys. I am designing a website for a friend's restaurant and don't have too much experience building websites. He wants to be able to easily edit the various menus- lunch, dinner, drinks whenever he wants. He doesn't know any HTML and has no desire in editing the code at all. The only thing I could think of was to use a wordpress plugin, there are a few ones for menus. But then I would have to build the whole website with wordpress right? I've never done a website with wordpress and I can't have it looking like its a wordpress blog. Could I embed just a wordpress plugin into an html page? In the past I've embedded a feedburner to get a blog to show up inside an html page, maybe I could do something similar? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    With wordpress everything become easier now, simply create a categories or Pages (menus, drink...) depend on the way you need your website to use and look like, then go to :

    Dashboard ==> Appearance ==> Menu

    create a menu and add the Pages/Categories To it.. then grabb it to your theme.. everything is listed there!

    Goodluck

    You're in over your head. What the client wants requires a programmer if you want to make it user friendly. I would bail before you take his money and fail to deliver.
    Or teach him to modify HTML if he's cheap.

    Wordpress is a great piece of software. Do yourself and your friend a big favor and just use this software. You can easily customize the wordpress installation and theme to match your needs and requirements. These days they also have a ton of wordpress plugins that are just overall great for restaurant websites. you can also purchase a already premade wordpress template and from there just edit / change the contact on it.

    Hi, when you want easily edit the various menus- lunch, dinner, drinks... try Minorit (http://www.minorit.com). You can give access to customer and he will edit it. You just paste short code into the website (where is code, there is editable text), this is all. Awesome!

    Piece of cake, fully mobile and totally awesome looking. Once you have something he likes set up is around 10 minutes + however long it would take to enter the menu items.

    Very, very easy. You basically just have to swap out a few images from his place but do note that you really should shoot some awesome food pictures if you want to do it right.
