    Description:
    This restaurant directory script is HUGE. I was too lazy to code it myself so I paid a small programming and design company to do it. It cost me a little over $8,000 for everything. This site has over 270,000 restaurant currently listed in it. has the following features:

    Front end features:

    * -SEARCH-

    Search for restaurants by zipcode 1-25 miles.
    Search by State
    Search By Category/Cuisine
    Search by Service

    * -REVIEW SYSTEM-

    Registered users are allowed to rate and review the restaurants.

    * -ADD TO FAVORITES-

    Registered Users are to be able to add restaurants to their "favorite list"

    * Other front end features:
    * Tell a friend
    * Newsletter (ability to mass email all subscribers through back end)
    * News feature (controled by the back end)

    Restaurant owners to be able to subscribe to a package that is defined in the admin panel. Ability to control what features a certain package can have and control what the packages cost, wether it be a yearly plan or a monthly plan.

    2 types of accounts. regular member account and a restaurant owner account.

    Restaurant owners are allowed to upload images (menus etc) and a logo. logo can be enabled through the packages IE a free package can turn off the logo.

    Admin Panel:
    * configuration of store, store owner email of store etc.
    * admins (create an admin account)
    super users: u can have super users admin through the front end!
    * plans (where you set the plans)
    * services (you can set the services that the restaurant owners can select from to show what services they offer ie smoking, non smoking etc etc)
    * catgories -categories of different cuisines ie american italian etc etc etc.
    * restaurant users accounts listing (edit delete)
    * restaurant owners accounts listing (edit delete)
    * payment gateways, will need paypal, autorize and 2checkout.
    * edit/show reviews.
    * Restaurants (show restaurants in DB, edit and delete options for each one) being that there are so many, will need a search feature.
    * send mail
    * news
    * links

    I am selling this because its too much for me to handle. This website is a monster and I am involved with too many other things in my life and this took on a life of its own. There needs to be some modifications to the stylesheet as you can see it looks pretty bland but its very easy to spice up. It comes with a template system and is VERY VERY easy to control the design with a basic knowledge of html. If you come any little bugs I can fix them for a very low fee or you can have someone you know fix them yourself. there are no bugs that I know of at the moment. The script currently accepts paypal and authorize.net you can input your info through the backend and disable/enable whatever payment module or you can use both. The starting bid is $200 but the reserve is much higher, i will accept private offers if the offer is reasonable. take a look at the site, what you see is what you get pretty much. I can also allow serious bidders to take a look at the admin panel.

    Price (or starting bid): $200

    Is an auction?: Yes

    The buyer can do whatever they want with the script except sell it unless it includes the domain with it.

    What webdesign company charged you 8K, and put you a 160KB banner ???

    I beleive you bought the restaurant database. I don't remember the website, but I saw it receintly, it sells a database with all US restaurants and a script. So you payed something like $100, not $8K.... am I wrong?

    Does sound a bit crazy... $8,000 for this site??? I'm sure I could get a programmer from Yahoo to build me a site for that amount :D

    I have a lyrics site that has over 250,000 lyrics in the database... but I sure wouldn't go around inventing that it cost me $8,000 to build it

    Yeap, You are right I bought that database and use it in my site http://www.BestDine.com also added two more databses. One for bars and one for drinks. I think that I did it over a weekend or two. The rest of the functioanlity mentioned above I can probably add in another week or so. I SAVED MYSELF 8K! BTW I used no buttons, but the links work. :D

    Thats a nice looking website

    I cant belive some of the things people try and pull. This isnt the first time I have seen some take a $15 website and try and pass it off as gold. Maybe that shit works on ebay but I dont think its going to go very far on a fourm where people are a little more sophisticated and actualy know what they are buying.

    $15 website? That sort of remark doesnt even deserve a response. First of all my site does a zipcode radius search, not a plain zipcode search. Secondly you didnt even see what the admin panel looks like. You dont know the half of the stuff that went into the website so stop being ignorant and troll on someone elses thread.

    And to the idiot saying i bought the database from the guy....WHY DONT YOU TRY CHECKING THE DAMN DATABASE BEFORE MAKING YOURSELF LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT. NO I DONT EVEN OWN THE DB FROM THAT GUY, NOBODY ON THESE FORUMS HAVE NEVER EVEN SEEN MY DATABASE, THIS WEBSITE HAS 80 PAYING RESTAURANT OWNERS WITH LOGO's, MENUS ETC ETC.

    Can you give me a breakdown of the costs of the website, I want to see where the $8,000 went.

    EDIT: Saw this over at SP. Might want to have a look at it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7552903636&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT

    Did that one cost you $8,000 too? According to your ebay listing it has more listings in the database, by your gorilla math it must have cost you at least $15,000 then.

    Your feedback is also very bad:
    [IMG] "received notice from ebay saying suspended this seller"
    [IMG] "I have a FRAUD claim with EBAY & PAYPAL against this seller - BEWARE"

    Yeap,

    It looks like a cookie cutter websites. Check this one out http://www.atfood.com. Also, I can get a zipcode databse with latitude and longitude and do a "Circular" reference in an afternoon at best. Hey Good idea I will do that. Also, If you have some development experience, you can dowload the ChefMoz data dump and parse it into a database for free including reviews.

    My bet is he is still in High School, probably 16. Bad grammer and scam artists are usually too young to know better, or just stupid. I'm giving him a break and calling him young. But I could be wrong.
