This isn't a rush design, I'm really looking for a high quality, well-polished design for both desktop and mobile. My budget is around 500-1,000 USD, paid via PayPal through a verified account, payment setup is as such: 25% up-front, 50% at the mid-way point, and the final 25% on completion sign-off for delivery, this project will start in the 3rd week of January (around the 16th). This project is design only, no coding. I'm needing the design delivered in either layered Photoshop PSD or layered Firework PNGs, preferably with good layer organization. The goal: Create a really great CSS3/HTML-driven site, using custom web fonts, etc. Touch-friendly buttons/links is definitely a big plus to the desktop version as it can be easily used by people on tablets. For the mobile side, I really like the way Metro Apps are done, other good apps are Google Plus, Google Currents, etc. The idea is to really showcase gorgeous pictures of food, with easily reachable areas for location/phone/checkin/etc. People seem to be fairly well adjusted to having the menu accessible with a swipe to the right (this is open to discussion as I haven't quite thought the mobile version out). The point of the design is not to make some extremely fancy design, but to make a simple, practical, well thought-out design that communicates information about the restaurant's menu offerings, daily specials, email newsletter, address, and contact information. Information: I have the following website: http://www.parisbakerycafe.com/ It's essentially just used to post up pictures of the food, show the menu, advertise the daily specials, and give tidbits about the place, and push the email newsletter (sends out the daily specials). It's a few years old and could use a complete facelift as well as a bit more social connectivity. Right now the social aspect is very limited. I also feel that it doesn't really advertise the daily special updates very much. The business is focused on european cuisine, mainly for breakfast and lunch, and one of the primary things customers come here is for the warm/friendly/casual atmosphere and the amazing food. There's some photos of these things here: https://www.facebook.com/ParisBakeryCafe/photos_stream though I can get more if needed for inspiration/ideas. Things I don't like about the current website: - The social presence is pretty much non-existent, there's no check-in buttons or anything - The boxes under the vertical banners aren't very visible, they're hard to read, and aren't really being utilized properly to draw people to them - There's no good way to display messages (like if the business is closed for the holidays), a full-width single line banner or some such might be good - Hours/Location don't feel all that visible - Email newsletter fades a bit into the background, making it a bit more visible would be nice Things I like about the current website: - The vertical banners do a really great job at showing our menu variety - The navigation menu is pretty much exactly what we want to emphasize - The interior 2 column design is pretty good, the sidebar could use a little love though, maybe a bit more content in it - It gives the phone number to order a good amount of visibility, but maybe something more towards the top could be useful, especially for mobile visitors - The overall design does a good job at translating the restaurant's atmosphere when you go to dine there Some things I'd like to address and make sure get incorporated/considered: - New design, I like simplicity and warm colors - Pushing deliveries, catering, and the daily specials - Attractive menu layout (a print-friendly version would be nice too, but not a big priority) - Better Facebook connection, and icons for FB Checkin and Foursquare on mobile - Attractive, mouth-watering pictures of food - Ensure that the phone number, address, menu, and opening hours are easily accessible - Conveys the atmosphere of the restaurant (I'll be getting more pictures to better convey this) Some sites I like: - CareIt Urban Deli - http://www.careit.ca/ I really like the extremely simplistic design elements, reminds me a lot of Windows 8's Metro UI. I think it's really elegant. I don't like much else aside from their homepage and sidebar though - Le 28 Thiers - http://www.le28thiers.fr/ I know this isn't at all the same type of restaurant, but I really like how simple, uncluttered, and to-the-point their design is - Ruby Tuesday - http://www.rubytuesday.com/ I really like the way they did their food/drink menus, I'd really like to do something similar with expandable content and such. I also like the header area and content boxes they do. Their sidebar is decent as well, though a bit sparse. Feel free to ask any questions if anything is unclear
