Respected, well ranking directories for business

Earlier today I was reading a thread here about respected (by goog and by the community) directories both paid and unpaid. I left for a few hours and now cannot find the thread which I swear was right here.

Specifically respected directories that provide listings for the site and perhaps deeper links for specific topics such as logo golf shirts and other categories.

    Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear, the deep links aren't all that important, I saw references earlier to goguides, botw and a few others. Respected, long term directories that cater to businesses. Yahoo, Business.com, DMOZ are obviously at the top but are pretty well known.

    Thanks

Thanks everyone for the input on business directories. We'll gradually expand into the directories many of you PMd and sent over the coming months. We're not in a huge rush and want to take it slow and steady.

I'm actually a little surprised there aren't more pure business directories on the web.

Best of the Web hasn't been mentioned... has a trio of offerings that might help, especially if you are on a budget and want to maximize impact for the dollar.

    General Directory- http://www.botw.org
BOTW has long had a strong biz section in their general (PR7 on Google for added value). Much cheaper review vs similarly strong links (Yahoo) and has a swift entry on acceptance.

    Biz Directory - http://local.botw.org/
They just introduced (this week) a "local" directory piggybacking on the success of the general directory. Offers direction maps, good topical breakdown, search feature. They start with a ton of businesses pre-loaded and allow upgrades to aid visibility. Ought to be a good value.

    Blog Directory - http://blogs.botw.org/
They also have a strong blog directory (noticed you asked about those in the other thread).

    Hope this helps. Good luck.:)

Here is a list of our Business niche directories. The list is pretty small right now however it is growing daily so check back often.

Also if you have a directory you can add it to our list for free. No reciprocal required.
