as an user i pay, now who and how the booty is shared a different question. ppl do not ear or drink petrol, but the same is needed for the transportation of the any commodity, essential or not. all overhead costs are factored into, isnt it. u cant say anything cause there arnt any point. coke etc has to leave india, thanks to the license raj. theres nothing more evil than the govt, and the evil of the congress party and specially the gandhi family is unparalleled. see the street of islamabad or dhaka, u will see streets full of merc and audi and what not. i always wonder how come they could afford the same. the reason is very simple, those are 2nd hand cars (still far far better than the first hand ambassador) which they imported at knockaway price ($1000-2000 at the most). but here we cant and no prizes for guessing why.
