Well, as for the sites for freelance writers are concerned.. your friend may give a try at getafreencer, scritplance, elance, guru and a lot more but let me tell you, these are all fish markets where the writers are just trying to slash down prices of other writers and quality should not be asked there!!!

Resources to learn to write a good article, there are many available although i personally do not think that this art can be learned. First and fore most thing which is required is the passion for writing and one should always write related to the subject which he/she has interest. If these two things are followed, the article will automatically come out of a superior quality.

Try Elance.com it's better than most other sites yet you can't expect anything higher than minimum wage.

If you're looking to make some quick cash, GetAFreelancer.com will probably work out for you. It's the den of low quality buyers and providers so unless you meet a buyer who knows a well-written piece from garbage, you can do some casual work and make some dough quick.

I haven't tried places like guru.com or RentACoder.com but you might want to try those as well. And maybe you could also offer your services in the content creation forum?

However you do it, if you're looking for a long-term career in the writing field, you'll have to impress people with your work and gain some serious clients who will come back to you when they need some work done.

    Good luck!

For projects, you can try places like GAF, but you might end up working for peanuts.

For resources, this isn't a bad place to visit ;) http://allfreelancewriting.com/

We have a freelance site and offer work constantly. The monthly membership to gain access to the writers panel is $10 but there are no other payments and you can take all the work you want. Payment is via Paypal every saturday. At present there are about 30 assignments waiting to be taken. I must warn though that you have to be accepted as being good enough and english must be 1st language. At present we have 60 writers most of them have been with us for 2 years or more.

If you would like to contact emma at articlesandcontent dot com she will give you all the info. Please dont' post questions here as she will answer all only if you contact her

    Regards

    Thanks John,

That looks like an interesting site, I also have sent an email.

As for finding work as a writer, it will depend on the quality of your writing and how much you are willing to work for. Sadly, many people are undercutting prices so low that it is sometimes hard to find the better paying assignments.
