    Hi all,

Firstly, my apologies if this is a 'noob' question. I'm relativey experienced at website development unfortunately.

I'm planning on creating a site about living in South/central America as an expat or retiree. However, what I intend to focus on are regular interviews by expats, and an extensive resource directory that links to information about moving/living in the continent. My goal with this is to offer impartial information, which can be difficult to find when it comes to south/centra america since most major sites are trying to sell real estate and therefore offer an overy positive view of life in these areas.

However, I see a few difficulties with this:
    • While I would development my own content, it seems that I would struggle to keyword-optimise the site since the interviews naturaly won't be keyword optimised
    • I've heard that having a large number of outbound links since I'll have the resources section. Won't this have negative implications for my pagerank?

In particular, I'm concerned that I'll struggle to be ranked higher in the search engines when a large amount of my content is a resource directory and interviews from expats. While I will be creating my own content, I expect the majority of it to be resources/interviews. Will this be a problem for me?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Nick
